IPL 2025 – October 31 has been set as the deadline for teams to complete the reservation
As was the case in the big auction before IPL 2022, IPL stuck to INR 4 crore as the price of uncapped players. The IPL also brought back a rule it had scrapped in 2021, allowing Indian players who had retired from international cricket at least five years before the relevant season to go up for auction as uncapped players. This gives Chennai Super Kings the option of keeping their former captain MS Dhoni, who last played an international game in the 2019 ODI World Cup, as an uncapped player.
