In the second ODI of the three-match series in between Ireland again South Africa in the UAE, the Proteas men dominated with the bat and the ball to comfortably win by 174 runs.
ODI century for Tristan Stubbs
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa posted a good total of 343/4 in 50 overs. Tristan Stubbs he is the dominant player, scoring 112 off 81 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes. He was well supported by Kyle Verreynnewho contributed a solid 67 of 64, while Wiaan Mulder added a quickfire 43 off 34. Contributions from Ryan Rickelton (40), Trust them (35), and Rassie van der Dussen (35) and laid a solid foundation.
Ireland’s bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with Andy McBrine (1/43) which is very economical.

Ireland is collapsing under the pressure
In reply, Ireland failed to chase, reduced to 169 all out in 30.3 overs. Despite some objections that arise Craig Young (29 of 21), Graham Hume (21 of 22), and Gavin Hoey (23 off 25), they couldn’t build a relationship. The South African bowling team, led by Lizaad Williams (3/36) and Good luck (2/38), kept the pressure all over the place, and the contribution from Bjorn Fortuin (2/36).
After this victory, South Africa took a 2-0 lead in the series and the final ODI will be held on Monday, 7 October at the same venue.

For his fine batting display, Tristan Stubbs was adjudged Man of the Match.
“I thought about the first game me and Ricks [Rickleton] I went back and today I was very focused after Kyle was out. They bowled well and the wicket was slow in the first innings. They made us hit the mark and the change of strike helped us through the middle half,” Stubbs said in the post-game presentation.
