The Guyana Amazon Warriors are the best in the running

Batting first, Barbados Royals were bundled out for a modest total of 148 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite the excellent play, none of the Royals’ batsmen were able to strengthen the innings, only David Miller to stand out as the top scorer, he contributed 36 from 26 balls. The Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers were relentless, they were Romario Shepherd who comes out as the best player. Shepherd’s spell of four overs wreaked havoc on the Royals’ order, as he picked up 3 crucial wickets, keeping the Royals under constant pressure throughout the innings.

In reply, the Guyana Amazon Warriors showed a good batting performance, chasing a target of 149 in just 14.3 overs. Shai Hopethe wicketkeeper-batter, was leading the way with a 56 off 33 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Backed by a strong innings from Ali, who scored 44 runs, the Warriors reached the final score with the loss of just two wickets, sealing an 8-wicket victory.

Ali’s performance earned him the man of the match award.
