Second course at Trump Scotland to open next summer – Golf News

Trump International Scotland has announced that its new Macleod Course, designed to complement the existing championship links, will open for play next summer.

Designed by Martin Hawtree and built to the highest standards, the new course is described as ‘modern links’ featuring a unique combination of sand dunes, tropical terrain and extensive wetlands.

Eric Trump, Senior Vice President of The Trump Organisation, said: “We are on track to build the world’s greatest 36 holes through two truly magnificent golf courses nestled amongst these magnificent dunes on the stunning Aberdeenshire coast. It’s a really fun and very special place.

“There is no other place that can offer what we have here in Scotland. We have the largest sand dunes in the world, the largest North Sea and the most incredible land. Some championship links and the best 36 holes of golf will give us endless energy. “

The Macleod Course at Trump International Scotland near Aberdeen is currently undergoing expansion ahead of its planned opening next summer.

Sarah Malone, Trump International’s Executive Vice President, Scotland, added: “Since it started last spring, we’ve made incredible progress. This course is unlike any other links course ever created and exceeds all expectations. There are very few major link development sites in the world that are as good as this one.

“An amazing, world-class team of architects, engineers, environmental scientists and industrial experts have been hard at work behind the scenes – exposing every square inch of this incredible piece of land to create one of the wonders of the golf world. .”

Legends Tour player and former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, who visited the course earlier this year, said: “I had the pleasure of watching the new site at Trump during construction when we played the Staysure PGA Championship at Trump International this summer. I have no doubt that the addition of this new golf course will not only provide a great golf experience, but also beautiful views of the North Sea from many holes. It’s great to see such investment in north-east Scotland to add to what is already a historic golfing destination.”
