IND vs NZ: Injury strikes Rishabh Pant on Day 2 of Bengaluru Test, Dhrul Jurel replaces him

With a major blow to India’s chances during the ongoing first Test against New Zealand, the umpire Rishabh Pant injured his knee on Day 2, prompting the team to call it quits Dhruv Jurel in his place.

The incident happened during New Zealand’s first innings when Pant was hit on the knee by a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja in the 38th over.

Rishabh Pant was forced off the field

Pant, who has had knee problems in the past, limped off after appearing to be in pain. The medical staff quickly helped him, but he was unable to continue and had to retire injured. Before his injury, Pant was India’s leading scorer in a dangerous innings, scoring 20 runs as the home side were bowled out for just 46 runs. the lowest total ever made in Test cricket at home.

Pant was forced to leave the ground injured after receiving on-field medical attention. He rowed with the help of support workers, apparently in pain.

Dhruv Jurel replaced Pant and took over the wicket-keeping duties before that KL Rahul.

After the collapse of India’s first innings, New Zealand dominated Day 2establishing a leading score of 134 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Devon Conway narrowly missing out on a century, this one by nine runs, as the Indian bowlers struggled to regain control of the game.
