Golf Business News – Emirates GC embraces the digital future with How Many Strokes

Emirates Golf Club in Dubai has launched a new ‘How Many Strokes’ digital information system to modernize the club and replace the handicap calculator for its golfers – becoming the first club in the region to offer this digital solution.

Emirates Golf Club, operated by Dubai Golf, has launched a new digital system, How Many Strokes, which updates automatically and can integrate with existing technology systems. A digital disability conversion board is available at the check-in desk.

How many Strokes offers a handicap conversion calculator, meaning golfers can easily be assigned a course handicap and the appropriate tee box before they tee off.

Golfers will also be able to use the board to get weather updates, green speed data, sunset times, pin locations for the day, and relevant course updates, as well as a digital meet and greet upon arrival.

“Improving the player experience is at the forefront of all technological developments at Emirates Golf Club”, added Nico Visser, Director of Golf at Emirates Golf Club. “Not only is it easy to use, but the digital scoreboard improves communication between players and the team, creating an engaging, personalized experience. The How Many Strokes program helps players choose the right tee box, which is an effective way to accelerate the pace of play during the course.”

Operating in more than 20 countries on five continents, the How Many Strokes program has been adopted by some of the best courses in the world, such as Whistling Straits in the USA, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in Spain, Royal Auckland & Grange in New Zealand, and the -Hillside Golf Club in England.

One key benefit of a digital system is the ability to provide accurate, up-to-date information on board in real time, providing a more efficient way to share information and reduce costs.
