Golf Business News – BIGGA invites greens keepers to take part in a big survey

The British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) is launching a survey inviting all greenkeepers – whether members of the organization or otherwise – to share their views on the structure and role of the organization itself.

The survey is intended to ensure that conservationists are aware of the plans to improve the activities and structure of BIGGA and to ensure that it is well placed to face the challenges of the coming years.

This study is the first step in a consulting phase conducted in partnership with Sporting Insights, a leading sports marketing research organization.

The questionnaire will give all conservationists a chance to voice their opinion about BIGGA itself, whether positive or otherwise. Questions will include what BIGGA membership offers, the number of benefits and programs currently available and how they may change. There will also be questions about membership levels, the role of volunteers and how BIGGA represents its members in the industry.

Those who complete the questionnaire will be entered into a draw to win £500 in Amazon vouchers.

Scott Reeves, BIGGA’s Head of Membership, said: “BIGGA has a proven track record of advancing the green profession and providing its members with new benefits and opportunities. As the organization approaches its 40th anniversary, we recognize that the industry is changing rapidly and to remain strong in the golf and turf management industry, we must listen to all stakeholders, whether they are members or those who choose not to join BIGGA. .

“This is a real opportunity for everyone who keeps green to have an impact on the direction BIGGA takes in the coming years and we are committed to listening to every voice, whether supportive or otherwise.”

Jim Croxton, CEO of BIGGA, said: “The greenkeeping industry never stands still. Conservationists are notoriously self-critical and always looking to improve their sites and knowledge. At BIGGA we aim to have a similar attitude, which is why we also seek clear feedback to ensure that what we offer to our members and the wider industry is as fit for purpose as possible.

“I am proud of the strides BIGGA has made during its lifetime but we cannot rest and hope that many of our members and other industry stakeholders will help us achieve even more in the next few years.”

Steve Lloyd, BIGGA Chairman and Course Manager at Worcestershire Golf Club, said: “Participating in this survey gives each of us a voice in shaping the future of our organization and, ultimately, our career. As curators, our information and experience are important in defining the guidance and support we need for BIGGA.

“Completing this study is an opportunity to ensure that the structure and role of the association reflects what is most important to our work and industry. I encourage all conservationists to get involved and participate in this vision for the future.”
