The PGA Tour returns to Mexico next week for the annual World Wide Technology Championship.

The tournament will be held in Cabo San Lucas which – despite being a popular tourist destination for North Americans and those from further afield – has become a golfing mecca.

Few places offer world-class courses like Cabo San Lucas with more than 18 within the city.

Cabo San Lucas is the place to go if you want a serious golf vacation.

This list is by no means exhaustive as Cabo has too many lessons to cover in a nutshell.

But here are five highly rated courses to play there.

Questro Golf

With three world-class golf courses, Questro Golf has emerged as one of the best golf resorts in Los Cabos. Their championship golf courses, created by golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Robert Trent Jones II will take you on an incredible journey through the spectacular landscape of the Baja Peninsula.

You will be treated to an amazing sea experience as you cross the beautiful Baja desert, framed by the beautiful Sierra Madre mountains.

Questro has no handicap or age requirement but asks that all players maintain a reasonable pace of play.

Cabo Del Sol Golf Club

The club is home to two courses with the public Cabo Del Sol course sharing space with the private Cove Club Course.

The stunning landscape of Baja is the backdrop around which the Cabo Del Sol Course (formerly known as the Desert Course) was created. Since it opened in 2001, golfers have been in awe of its seamless blend of desert and ocean, with canyon-like arroyos that add to both the course’s challenge and beauty.

With ocean views from every available hole, the Cabo Del Sol Course is a unique feature of the resort town golf experience. Its amazing bunkering and various elevation changes provide an amazing background for your play.

Club Campestre San Jose

Club Campestre San Jose, designed by the world-renowned Jack Nicklaus Signature brand, features 18 championship-style holes.

Club Campestre San José invites guests to enjoy the stunning panoramic views, dramatic elevation changes, and championship greens of Mexico’s first-class golf club, with beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez, canyons, and mountains. This unique Mexican golf course, hidden in the Sierra mountains and offering stunning ocean views from every hole, was designed with great precision and the beauty you want.

Club Campestre is the first course to use “Paspalum” grass that is resistant to salt water, meaning it is easy to care for in local areas and desert conditions.

Palmilla Golf Club

Palmilla Golf Club in Los Cabos, Mexico is famous for its 27 holes of outstanding golf and breathtaking views. It’s known as the “Grand Dame of Los Cabos Golf” for a very good reason.

The first Jack Nicklaus Signature design in Latin America, the golf course is beautiful and challenging. It is a world-class masterpiece of a course that is comparable to the best courses in the international category.

From all 27 holes of this Cabo golf course, you can see the Sea of Cortez.

Cabo Real Golf Course

Cabo Real Golf Club, the center of a 2,800-acre resort and residential development with 3.2 miles of shoreline, offers a multi-themed, target-style course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Cabo Real’s front nine, which Jones completely redesigned from the previous course, offers a nice, gentle challenge with fairways that drop into the Sea of Cortes. The short par-4 fifth, which plays across an arroyo on the way to the beach, is a wonderful example of its combination of beauty and challenge.

Cabo Real’s long back 9 is a wonderful test of golf, with beautiful holes carved into the desert slopes below the mountain peaks. Free bunkers and short, raised greens meet fairways that play on hilltops and take full advantage of the rugged terrain.
