Golf Business News – Santo da Serra reveals hotel partnership

The Clube de Golf Santo da Serra in Madeira has established a partnership with the neighboring Enotel Santo da Serra, combining the prestigious course with prestigious hospitality for the first time.

Blessed with a peaceful yet easily accessible location just 10 minutes from Madeira airport and the capital city of Funchal, the new collaboration encompasses 104 hectares of land immersed in a tranquil landscape.

Fittingly, the Enotel Santo da Serra originally served as Santo da Serra’s first golf resort before being transformed into a premier hospitality venue. Today, this four-star hotel offers 68 luxurious rooms, swimming pools and a spa and Sabor da Terra restaurant.

Santo da Serra has attracted visiting golfers since 1937 and was revived in 1991 when renowned architect Robert Trent Jones designed 27 new holes.

The club’s Machico and Desertas courses have hosted 20 Madeira Islands Open events on the DP World Tour, while the smaller Serras courses have been favorites since they opened in 1998. All three nine-hole loops were designed by Trent Jones, one of the most well-known of them all. projects include Spyglass Hill, Valderrama and Adare Manor.

João Paulo Sousa, president of Clube de Golf Santo da Serra, said: “This partnership is the realization of a long-held dream. We are proud to offer an experience that combines the love of golf with luxury living, in an environment that values nature and sustainability.”

Mónica Camacho, director of Enotel Santo da Serra, added: “It is an honor to partner with Clube de Golf Santo da Serra, we have created a perfect place where guests can enjoy both the comfort of our hotel and the beauty of the golf course. “

Along with their geographical proximity, the relationship between these two properties is a natural fit due to the shared values of these two areas of sustainability and respect for the surrounding ecosystem. The Enotel Santo da Serra combines an educational farm with organic agriculture, while the Clube de Golf Santo da Serra installed a new €2.5m irrigation system this year as part of a long-term commitment to the environment.

Along with Palheiro Golf and Porto Santo Golfe, Santo da Serra is one of the three best places included in the Madeira Golf Passport, which includes green fees and transportation at an exceptional price.
