Golf Business News – England Golf is hosting a student activities day at the National Golf Centre
England Golf held a work day at its Woodhall Spa headquarters this week for students from local schools in the Lincolnshire region.
Eighty-five students from seven schools and colleges took part in a golf day organized in partnership with the Careers In Golf initiative and Greater Lincolnshire LEP’s Careers Hub.
Students aged 15 to 17 had the opportunity to explore a range of golf careers, from greens maintenance and golf fitness to product design and event management, and hear from the CEO of England Golf and other staff at The National Golf Centre. at Woodhall Spa.
These connections provided real-world insight into the various career paths available within the golf industry, making the future of golf feel tangible and accessible to students.
“The event was a resounding success as it not only introduced new people to many different fields in the golf industry but also highlighted the local opportunities and transferable skills gained through playing golf,” said Alex Nightingale, Operational Hub Lead at Greater. Lincolnshire LEP’s Careers Hub.
“It showed the power of cooperation between our organizations, fueling enthusiasm and curiosity that will undoubtedly change the future of these young people in the workplace.”
Mary-Anne Price, HR Director at England Golf and Business Adviser at Careers Hub, added: “We were delighted to host a variety of schools and students from across Lincolnshire to share valuable insights and industry knowledge about careers in golf. Golf truly is for everyone, and we hope that the many opportunities on display throughout the day will inspire our future workforce to see golf not only as a sport, but also as a potential career.”

“These days are great events that bring together many organizations in the industry and will hopefully inspire young people to consider a rewarding career in golf.”
