Secret of success: Paul Waring and Ryo Ishikawa win with Nippon shafts

Nippon Shafts has been celebrating success around the world as golfers have played with their irons to win on the DP World Tour and the Japan Men’s Golf Tour.

Paul Waring won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, a journeyman who kept his composure to best a set of high-quality chasers including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton.

Waring used NSPRO MODUS³ Tour 120 irons in his irons to take a two-shot victory at Yas Links.

In addition, the front runner Hatton had similar instruments in his instruments.

Waring carded a 24-under par of 64-61-73-66=264 to win his second DP World Tour event. He also secured dual membership to the DP World and PGA Tours in 2025, a place in the Open at Royal Portrush and moved up to number five in the Race to Dubai rankings. Ishikawa also wins in Japan

In Japan, Ryo Ishikawa, once the darling of his nation’s golfers, won the Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters using NSPRO MODUS³ Tour 125 shafts in his irons and wedges.

The 33-year-old shot 11-under 269 with rounds of 66-71-65-67 and won 40 million yen ($260,000).

Nicknamed Hanikami Oki or Bashful Prince, it was his 20th win at home but he is yet to win in Europe or the United States.
