Aston Villa vs Liverpool: Preview, predictions and fixtures
Aston Villa can book their place in next season’s Champions League with a win on Monday night when they host Liverpool.
The Clarets, knocked out of the Europa Conference League by Olympiacos in midweek, can secure fourth place if they win at Villa Park. Tottenham’s win over Burnley on Saturday means Spurs are still in the hunt for the top four, but they remain four points behind Aston Villa with two games to play.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are now officially out of the Premier League title race and will not finish lower than third this season. They have nothing but pride in playing in the Midlands, and will want to give Jurgen Klopp the best possible sentence in his last away game in charge of the Reds.
The game back in September ended 3-0 in favor of Liverpool, who are unbeaten against Villa in their last seven meetings. However, their last defeat at Villa Park was that 7-2 clash in the 2020/21 season.
Here it is 90 min Aston Villa vs Liverpool guide.

Aston Villa’s injuries have not helped them in the latter stages of what has been a stunning campaign, but Unai Emery may welcome back some of his stars for the visit of Liverpool. The Spanish coach confirmed that Youri Tielemans and Alex Moreno could be available, while Nicolo Zaniolo could be fit to play somewhere.
However, the Midlands club are still without Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers.
Aston Villa predicted line-up (4-4-2): Martinez; Money, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Bailey, Iroegbunam, Luiz, McGinn; Diaby, Watkins.
Liverpool don’t have too many injuries to worry about but sharpshooter Diogo Jota remains unavailable after picking up an injury in their 3-1 win over Fulham on April 21.
Long-term absentees Joel Matip and Thiago were left out but Klopp was given a boost when young Stefan Bajcetic appeared on the bench against Tottenham.
All eyes will be on Klopp in this match as the coach received a yellow card before being suspended in his last game in charge of the club. Can he keep cool for 90 minutes?
Liverpool predicted line-up (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
Liverpool showed enough against Tottenham last weekend to worry Aston Villa, with the Midlands club looking completely shell-shocked. The rested Reds could take advantage as they aim to bid farewell to Klopp in the best possible way.
Villa will be fighting hard for top spot, but their tired and battered squad may fall short.
Prediction score: Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool
