The Seattle Kraken have some pending UFAs that could draw some trade interest

The fourth season: The Seattle Kraken are in the wild card race, but if they fall out of playoff contention, they have some pending UFAs that will attract some interest.

Forwards Brandon Tanev and Yanni Gourde have already received interest. Other pending UFAs include Daniel Sprong, William Borgen and Josh Mahura.

Tanev has a list of 10 teams, not sold and Gourde has a list of 23 teams.

Kraken can keep earnings to increase their trading value.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: The Boston Bruins and Jim Montgomery had offseason contract negotiations that did not lead to an extension. There are others who “believe he was uncertain about Boston even before they were uncertain about him.”

Teams fighting for the Stanley Cup will be looking for players with “edge”. Teams will be scouting Bruins forward Trent Frederic. There was some Morgan Geekie speculation but it may have been when he wasn’t on the roster.

I’m not sure if it’s possible or if there’s anything they want to do, but Nikita Zadorov returning to the Vancouver Canucks would be interesting.

The Chicago Blackhawks will make sense of Philadelphia Flyers center Morgan Frost, who has been healthy lately.

The Nashville Predators are looking for a center and a top-four defenseman with term. The Predators have three first-round picks and teams are interested but there is no indication that GM Barry Trotz wants to move anywhere.

The Toronto Maple Leafs join the Predators, Blackhawks and others, in seeing what the mid-market is like. The Preds and Blackhawks have plenty of salary cap space and picks.

Christian Dvorak of the Montreal Canadiens has an estimated net worth of $4.45 million but a salary of $5.75 million. That makes things a little more complicated.

At this time it appears that the Seattle Kraken want to move on with UFA Yanni Gourde.

The Toronto Maple Leafs turned down requests for Dennis Hildeby last season. This season Artur Akhtyamov allowed only 12 goals in six AHL teams. Teams will be calling to see what the Leafs plans are.
