IPL 2024 [WATCH]: Axar Patel unleashes a sharp mind to take a stunning catch of Rajat Patidar in the RCB vs DC match
In an important IPL match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 47 runs.
RCB put in an impressive performance after being asked to bat first and posted an impressive total of 187 in 9 overs from 20 overs, with stellar knocks Will Jacks (41 off 29) and Rajat Patidar (52 out of 32). DC, despite a heroic effort from Axar Patel, failed in their chase after being all out for 140 in 14.1 overs. Axar talks about the poor display from DC
Axar, who serves as DC’s stand-in captain in Rishabh Pant’s absence, he did not avoid facing the shortcomings of his team, especially the number of substitutes who were not caught. While acknowledging the impact of these mistakes on their defeat, he insisted that the firmness of the pitch could have restricted RCB to a total of 150.
“Falled handlers hurt us. I would limit them to 150. If you lose four wickets in the powerplay, you are always chasing the game. 160-170 would be an even score. The pitch was going twice,” Axar said in the post-match presentation.
