Man United target Michael Olise is “not guaranteed” to leave, says Ornstein

There has been a lot of talk about the future of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise ahead of the summer transfer window and David Ornstein of The Athletic says the player is “not guaranteed” to leave Selhurst Park.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form in recent weeks scoring four goals and assisting two more in his last five games. That brought his season total to 10 goals and five assists in 18 games, which is impressive given the player’s injury-plagued season.

Chelsea made an attempt to sign Olise last summer but the Crystal Palace player decided to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park instead until 2027.

That deal contains a release clause in the region of £60m, reports David Ornstein of Athletic, who have attracted a number of clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window. However, a reliable reporter claims that the potential deal is complicated and that the 22-year-old is not guaranteed to leave the Eagles this summer.

Speaking about Olise’s future, Ornstein gave a detailed explanation of the winger’s current situation at Crystal Palace.

The Athletic reporter said: “There is a lot of interest in Olise – from Manchester United, for example – so a move is possible.

“The ban on his agent started in October, so it won’t be a deterrent. But there have been no concrete talks or developments between the players and Crystal Palace so far and it is not guaranteed that he will leave, as we saw last summer with Chelsea.

“Olise is said to be the type of person who should consider these decisions carefully and will not leave unless he and the Royal Family agree.” It is well documented that there is a release clause, which is believed to facilitate his exit for £60m, but from everything we hear it is a complicated process and not as straight forward as: pay the money and get him.”

Olise will be signing for Man United this summer, especially Jadon Sancho who is expected to leave Old Trafford, despite the bad form of players like Marcus Rashford and Antony.

The 22-year-old has shown this season that he is a top pick in the sport but it remains to be seen whether he will go to a top six club in the Premier League.
