Jake DeBrusk figured he’d have a deal now, with the rest of the Bruins still waiting for UFA notes
Fluto Shinzawa of the Athletic: Boston Bruins pending UFA forward Jake DeBrusk on Sunday said he’s surprised he still doesn’t have a contract.
“But I understand that business is business. I’ve been there. I have seen many deals made with boys. So I understand what their side is and how they usually work. I wasn’t really completely surprised. But I thought it would be done. I thought everything was going to be okay, I guess. But having said that, this year was really stressful for me. It took a lot. I’m looking forward to going, to be honest.”
The Bruins need DeBrusk’s scoring on the wing but GM Don Sweeney has a price for that and didn’t want to pay more than that.
