Venus Williams Celebrated With New Barbie Doll

A famous tennis champion Venus Williams now it will be immortalized by one of the most prominent dolls in the world.

Mattel has announced that seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams is among nine other athletes it is encouraging to receive their very own Barbie doll.

This iconic doll, recently featured in the blockbuster film of the same name, first appeared in 1959.

Mattel, in a statement, said the program is part of its 65th anniversary celebration recognizing “the impact of sports in inspiring confidence, ambition and empowering the next generation.”

“Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by the idea of ​​breaking the glass ceiling and staying true to myself, and Barbie’s mission couldn’t match this ethos,” Williams said in a statement. “I am honored to be recognized as a role model in sports and to join Team Barbie to continue to empower the next generation of young girls to never stop believing in their dreams.”

Other athletes present are Rebeca Andrade of Brazil and Alexa Moreno of Mexico, soccer players Mary Fowler of Australia and Christine Sinclair of Canada, French boxer Estelle Mossely, Italian swimmer Federica Pellegrini, Spanish runner Susana Rodriguez and Polish runner Ewa Swoboda. . Each of the nine athletes represents nine different countries where the athletes come from.
