IPL 2024 [WATCH]: Kavya Maran delivers morale message to SRH players after their defeat against KKR

After suffering a crushing defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 lastly, i Sunriers Hyderabad (SRH) the team owner stepped up and gave a much needed pep talk to motivate the team. The loss was a bitter pill to swallow for SRH, who were soundly beaten by KKR at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 26).

Kavya Maran’s motivational speech

After winning the toss, SRH managed to score only 113 runs before being dismissed in 18.3 overs. In reply, KKR chased down the target easily with eight wickets in hand and 15 overs thus winning their third IPL title. After that despite the disappointing result, the owner of SRH Kavya Maran addressed the team in the dressing room, thanking them for their role in redefining T20 cricket. The official social media handle of the franchise posted an interesting video showing Kavya speaking in the team’s dressing room. Although he expressed disappointment in their day off, he emphasized the importance of being strong when they lose.

“You all made us very proud. I had to come here to tell you that. He has redefined the way we play T20 cricket and everyone is talking about us. A day off should have happened today, but really good job, all with bat and ball. Thank you very much. “Even though we finished in last place last year, I think the fans came out in droves because of the talent you guys have.” Kavya said.

Pride and encouragement

Kavya also expressed pride that even though KKR won, people are still talking about SRH. He reminded the players not to focus on the loss but to be aware of the significant improvement they showed last season. Encouraging them to keep their heads up, Kavya ensured that everyone in the team left the dressing room with a smile, despite the disappointment of defeat.

“Everyone is talking about us. Even if KKR wins, they will still talk about the style of cricket we played. Thanks guys, take care. Don’t look like this. We played the final, it was not another game,” Kavya concluded.
