A Villa scout believes the club would welcome an ‘absurd’ offer for Ollie Watkins

Bryan King has said Aston Villa will only accept a ridiculous offer for striker Ollie Watkins.

The Aston Villa front man scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season and guided Unai Emery’s side to a top four finish.

The Villans are now poised to qualify for next season’s Champions League and thanks to Watkins, have been one of the success stories of last season.

His good form has earned him selection in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

Under Emery, Watkins has taken his game to the next level and his performances have not been seen by the Premier League’s big boys.

Ex-Villa scout King has revealed that the team is not willing to sell their top players during the summer transfer window.

King believes Watkins could still be put at risk, according to an exclusive interview with Villa News.

“I don’t think they will sell their best players,” The Lord said.

“But there are players in the squad who will be there, and Villa must sell before buying.

Aston Villa are being tipped to accept a ridiculous offer for Ollie Watkins.

“I don’t think Watkins will leave unless it’s a crazy amount of money. It would be the wrong time to sell him.

“There are players who can raise decent money, but what kind of money will they need?”

Aston Villa should support Emery in the market

With Villa now preparing for Champions League football next season, they should support Emery in the transfer market to strengthen the squad.

The Midlands club are said to be interested in Chelsea player Conor Gallagher.

The Villans may have to sell some of their players to raise funds and comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules.

With the Premier League club set to compete in four competitions next season, they will need a squad full of depth and options for Emery.
