Actress Sonali Bendre reacts to Shoaib Akhtar’s love proposal in the past

In a wonderful, early revelation Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar admires Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre it reappeared, prompting the actor to respond himself.

During the interview, Akhtar expressed his love for Sonali, and even jokingly said that he would marry her, and if she refused, he then resorted to kidnapping. This funny yet bold statement caught the attention of many, including a popular YouTuber Shubhankar Mishrawho revealed it during a recent podcast with Bendre.

Mishra highlighted Akhtar’s popularity in Pakistan and how Bendre’s name is often paired with his in various search results. Bendre, however, responded hesitantly, saying, “I don’t know how true this is, even in those times there were fake news.”

Further delving into the topic, Mishra referred to the former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina’s candid acceptance of Bendre’s praise in the interview. Bendre admitted that Raina was embarrassed when his name was called, drawing parallels with the feelings that Akhtar was said to have had. He expressed gratitude for the love but was not convinced of the authenticity of the requests.

Responding to Mishra’s suggestion that Akhtar was trying to convey that he really loved her, Bendre reflected on how such feelings influenced his work, saying that the love and admiration of fans, regardless of where they came from, had a big impact.

‘Not a cricket fan’: Sonali Bendre

Collaborating with Mishra, Bendre also revealed that she is not a cricket fan and only her husband Goldie Behl and son Ranveer like to watch the game.

When asked if she ever went to watch an IPL match, Sonali replied: “Yes… at the beginning of the tournament. But it’s very hot out there [in the stadium] and so much noise, which makes it uncomfortable to sit.”
