Al Horford’s Sister Responds to ‘Weird’ Retirement Rumors

Al Horford is 38 years old, so some have asked how long he will continue to play in the NBA, and he and his sister talked about this topic.

In his 17th season in the league, Horford won a title with the Celtics.

Now that he has finally won the chip, people are wondering if he will ride off into the sunset.

But it doesn’t seem that way.

Horford’s sister, Anna Horford, addressed the retirement rumors surrounding her brother.

“The rumors about Al quitting were always weird,” he told X. “It would be one thing if he was a little bench player… He started most of the playoffs (and) he was important to (the Celtics’) success. “

The Celtics center addressed the rumors on Sunday and laughed at people who thought he wasn’t coming back.

“I don’t know how that started to be honest. I’m coming back,” he said. “That’s the plan. We’ve already talked about the offseason.”

He added, “I’m going to start training in a few weeks and keep it going.

Horford was also asked if he knows how long he wants to continue playing in the NBA.

“Not really. I feel good, I want to continue and I know that I have to be careful how I look at the season and how I go throughout the season,” he said. “But I feel like we did a really good job, our team of Celtic doctors did a great job treating me this season.”

Horford is signed with the Celtics next season for a salary of $9.5 million.

He played a big role in the finals in Boston, especially with the absence of the team’s usual center, Kristaps Porzingis.
