Al-Nassr is ready to hold talks with Man City about Ederson
Ederson’s future at Man City is uncertain ahead of the 2024/25 season as the Brazilian has interest from Saudi Arabia and Al-Nassr ready to move for the goalkeeper.
Former Arsenal player David Ospina is expected to leave Al-Nassr this summer and that leaves the Saudi club without a goalkeeper ahead of the new campaign. Ederson has become the best thing in this team as its coach Luis Castro is a big fan of this 30-year-old player.
Sources have told us CaughtOffside that Al-Nassr is ready to hold talks with Manchester City about signing Ederson during the next transfer window, but everyone expects the Brazilian to decide on his job as he has a contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2026.
Pep Guardiola wants to keep the goalkeeper next season so the Premier League champions are not willing to sell him for anything less than €40 million if the Brazil international decides he wants to leave.
Al-Nassr have a backup plan if their bid to sign Ederson fails as they will turn to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.
Man City have a big decision to make about Ederson
Ederson has been a key player for Pep Guardiola since his move to Man City from Benfica in 2017 as the 30-year-old is perfect for the way the Spanish coach wants his side to play. The Brazilian is one of the best goalkeepers in the world with the ball at his feet and it will be difficult for Man City to replace him.
However, the Premier League club have always allowed players to leave if that is their wish and if the Brazilian wants a change of scenery in the new season, the Manchester club must ensure they get the best possible deal.
40 million euros seems to be a fair price for Ederson, who will probably be used as a replacement.
