Ange Postecoglou backs down from disagreement with Tottenham fans

Ange Postecoglou has described Tottenham’s game against Manchester City as his ‘worst experience’ in football management, highlighting the unusual atmosphere created by the home fans inside the stadium.

However, after some time to reflect on the situation, Postecoglou admitted that he was not thinking clearly about the incident and explained why he was so frustrated.

“I got a cold sweat thinking about the people who doubted my integrity and the people I work with.

“In the last game I didn’t understand and I raised my hands up, I found a mistake. I sat the day before and laughed at everything because I couldn’t believe it was so. [Spurs fans wanting to lose].

“But, if people feel like that, then again, I can’t because I’m not a Spurs fan, they are like that and it’s their football team. They’re the custodians, not me.”

Defeat at Spurs left Arsenal facing an uphill battle for the Premier League title, with Postecoglou’s side now needing a point in their meeting with Sheffield United on Sunday to ensure they do not relinquish fifth place to Chelsea.
