According to Marc Stein’s report on Substack, Borrego, who is currently the assistant coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, is well regarded by Davis as a potential head coach for the Lakers.

Borrego’s preference over Redick stems from a variety of factors, including Redick’s decision not to vote for Davis in All-Defense honors this season, raising questions about their potential compatibility.
