Arne Slot has dismissed rumors that the Liverpool star will leave the club this summer
Liverpool have had a transfer window to forget this summer.
They have never signed new players, the contracts of their main players are still in the last year and some of their players are said to want to turn their backs on this team.
Reds winger Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from Anfield with Barcelona mentioned as his next destination.
The player from Colombia has not said that he wants to leave the Merseyside club but the reports about his departure from the Reds have not stopped.
A few days ago, El Chiringuito reported that Diaz had reached an agreement with Manchester City to join the Premier League champions, raising eyebrows among Liverpool and City fans.
However, new Liverpool manager Arne Slot has now opened up about the future of his key striker, saying the player’s future lies with Liverpool and speculation about his future is baseless.
He said, as reported by The Mirror:
“When I came in here, Sky Sports was on the screen and all day it was talking about football, so there is a lot of speculation in this country. That is clear to me. It is not surprising if you tell me that there is something about Luis Diaz.
“His future is with us because I really like what I saw in the 10 days he joined and I saw the same last season. He has had a big impact on Liverpool’s seasons and I hope he has a big impact on the next season as well.”
Diaz has a contract at the club that runs until 2027 and is still a key player in their starting line-up.

The left-back joined the club from FC Porto and has since been a huge success at Anfield.
His pace and playmaking ability are a huge asset to the Reds attack, however, there is a need for him to add more end product to his game at times.
With the talent and potential he has, it still feels like he could do better at Liverpool and Slot will be hoping his best performances come next season.
