Arsenal are ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign a last-minute striker

Arsenal are still looking for new players in the transfer market with just five days left until the window closes.

The Gunners have strengthened their defense and midfield this summer but further additions are needed if they are to topple Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League.

The North Londoners have been linked with a move for the striker throughout the summer but manager Mikel Arteta has shown faith in his current attacking options.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen have all been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

According to Repubblica, Arsenal have overtaken Chelsea in the race to sign Napoli’s Nigerian striker Osimhen.

Both Premier League rivals are looking to add a striker to their squad and have identified Osimhen as one of their targets.

The Serie A striker has been one of the best players in the world at his position for a long time now.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal?

In 2022/23, Osimhen guided the Italian giants to Serie A success by winning the league title and showing his ability to perform at the highest level, consistently.

Napoli are looking to introduce the striker as they have already signed Romelu Lukaku to lead their attack next season under manager Antonio Conte.

Osimhen is determined to leave the club and the Serie A giants feel that the striker’s move to the Premier League is the only solution.

Arsenal are leading rivals Chelsea in the race for Victor Osimhen

According to the report, Napoli would like to move the attacker to Arsenal instead of Chelsea.

A quick solution is needed in Osimhen’s situation as the end of the transfer window approaches.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are willing to continue their interest in the powerful attacker when Arteta appears to have made peace with his current options for attackers.

Osimhen has been good for the Gunners and provided them with a brutal presence up front but the question remains, can Arsenal sign him this summer?
