Aston Villa goalkeeper this summer
Aston Villa are reportedly in talks to trade Famalicao goalkeeper Luiz Junior for a €10 million deal.
Unai Emery’s side could do with more depth in goal, and Junior is reportedly set to replace Emiliano Martinez, who will remain as the club’s number one.
It has been suggested that Villa will have to pay 10 million euros for the long-term Brazilian stopper, as well as an additional 2 million Euros, so they may find real interest here.
Villa face an important summer after qualifying for the Champions League, so it is important that they ensure their squad is in the right shape for next season.
Bringing in Junior to cover for Martinez would be an important piece of business to ensure they have enough cover, and one imagines we’ll be seeing more signings like these to bolster Emery’s squad soon.
Villa are looking to lose Douglas Luiz to Juventus in what will be a major setback, although they are expected to sign Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior from Juve as part of the deal.
That should soften the blow of losing Luiz, but more reinforcements will be needed with more games to come next season.
