Aston Villa may soon be forced to sell players to remain compliant with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), according to financial expert Stefan Borson.
Villa have been a strong supporter of manager Unai Emery in recent years, with Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen, Pau Torres and Jhon Duran among his most expensive signings at the club so far.
The prize for the Midlands club was Emery who guided them to a shock fourth-placed finish in the Premier League last season, booking them a place in the Champions League for 2024/25.
However, Villa are one of the few clubs in the Premier League who have been walking a fine line when it comes to their PSR position over the past six months.

In fact, according to Brsson, things remain so bad for Villa that they may have to sell another big star soon to satisfy the Premier League power.
“They spent a lot of money,” Brson told Football Insider.
“The owners of Villa have spent a lot of money over the last few years and they have succeeded in doing it.
“They entered the Champions League.
“But we know that the club is very close to breaking the PSR on June 30, so it’s no surprise that they have to make as much money as possible wherever they can, be it ticket sales, the Champions League, merchandising, everything. .
“They’re going to try and grow all the revenue lines to try and close the gap between where they are and the £105m limit.
“If they don’t do that, they will have to sell football players, which they don’t want to do.”
