Ayush Badoni guides India A to clinical win over Oman in Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024

India A achieved a comprehensive victory by 6 wickets Oman in Match 12 of ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground on Wednesday. With this win, India A continued their impressive run in the tournament, with Ayush Badoni’s performance being the highlight of the match.

After electing to bat, Oman posted 140/5 in 20 overs. Despite a strong start, the batsmen failed to sustain the momentum. Mohammad Nadeem anchored the innings with 41 off 49 balls, while Hammad Mirza played a quickfire cameo, scoring 28 off 15 balls, including two sixes. Jatinder Singh (17 off 13) and Wasim Ali (24 off 28) contributed, but Oman fell short of a more competitive total.

The India A bowlers displayed a balanced attack, with Aaqib Khan, Rasikh SalamNishant Sindhu, Ramandeep Singh and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore each picked up a wicket.

Chasing 141 to win, India A reached their target well in 15.2 oversfinishing with 146/4. Ayush Badoni was the star of the show, scoring 51 off just 27 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes, guiding his team to a convincing victory. He was well supported by Tilak Varma, who put up a solid 36* in 30 balls, and Abhishek Sharma, who set the tone early with a blistering 34 in 15 balls.

Despite a few quick wickets by Oman’s bowlers, including one each by Jay Odedra, Karan Sonavale, Aamir Kaleem, and Sufyan Mehmood, India A’s strong batting line-up ensured they cruised to victory with 28 balls to spare.
