BAN vs NED: Here is the reason why Teja Nidamanuru will not play today’s match | T20 World Cup 2024

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bowl first against Bangladesh in Match 27 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Thursday (June 13). The match is played at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent. Both teams aim to book a place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament. Both sides have lost before South Africa in this competition. Due to the rain, the tossing took place 30 minutes later than usual. Edwards, when he won the toss, chose to bowl first, probably taking into account the changing conditions and the potential for early off-field movement.

The reason for Teja Nidamanuru’s absence

The Netherlands made one change to their side, bringing in an off-spinner Aryan Dutt instead of an all rounder Teja Nidamanuru. Although Edwards did not reveal the exact reason for the change, it is thought that the spin-friendly conditions seen in the West Indies throughout the tournament had an impact on the decision. Edwards mentioned that not many teams are aware of the conditions in St Vincent, suggesting that his team is well prepared and will give themselves every opportunity to succeed.

Thinking about the decision to throw first, Edward explained “We will have a bowl first. Not too many international matches have been played here recently. Our boys are looking forward to it, we have been playing some good cricket. Aryan Dutt is perfect for Teja,”

There are no changes from the Bangladesh side

Bangladesh decided to field the same team that played against South Africa, unchanged for this important match. Najmul Hossain Shanto, in the toss, expressed confidence in batting first, highlighting the good nature of the wicket but also warned of the challenges of facing the new ball. He emphasized the virtues of having a leg-spinner, Rishad Hossainin their ranks.

I don’t mind hitting first. Looks like a good wicket. With the new ball, we have to be careful. Rishad is very entertaining, luckily we got a leggie. I hope he continues his form. No changes, same XI,” Shanto said during the shooting.
