Bayern Munich are facing another blow as two of their target managers have ruled out summer transfers

Bayern Munich’s search for a new manager has taken two more rounds as both Roger Schmidt and Roberto De Zerbi have gone public.
With Thomas Tuchel currently set to step down at the end of the season, Bayern have been trying to find a replacement for the past few months but have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick.
With club officials now forced to work their way down the shortlist, Schmidt and De Zerbi have been mooted as potential hires, but both have made it clear they are not interested in listening to Bayern.
Starting with Schmidt, the Benfica coach insisted: “How many times do I have to answer this question? I’m not in the market. I have a job at Benfica and I like it. I don’t need anyone’s invitation. My situation is very clear.”
Those comments were quickly followed by De Zerbi, who confirmed his desire to stay with Brighton & Hove Albion.
“I think I would like to stay in Brighton because I love my players. I love this city. I love my team, my fans,” said De Zerbi.
“I said in a meeting with the fans, if I’m happy, no team can bring themselves to change the team, but I want to keep my love at all times.”
Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag has recently been touted as a potential replacement for Tuchel, who has also been linked with a job at Old Trafford, but the current Bayern boss has recently teased the idea of staying at the end of the season.
“This is an agreement so it cannot be changed,” said Tuchel. “Well, you can change the whole contract by agreement because we also had a contract and we agreed to end it early so everything is possible.
“But the answer is the same, the agreement stands and the agreement is there.”
However, director Christoph Freud recently confirmed that Viaplay that there is “no chance” of Tuchel staying beyond the current campaign.
