Briem wins first Rose Ladies Open – Golf News
Germany’s Helen Briem claimed her first win as a champion after a match at the Rose Ladies Open held at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.
The four-time LETAS champion was two shots back of the 36-hole mark and produced a round of 66 (-6) with an impressive eagle on the 18th.th to be in the playoff alongside 2023 England graduate Hannah Screen.
The duo went back to 18 in the playoff and both made birdies on the first and pars on the second. On the third hole, Briem made it to victory.
Briem says: “It feels good to get my first win as a professional, especially here at the Rose Ladies Open.
“Every tournament has its own story and this is mine. I am very happy to win again.
“In the regulation game, I thought about hitting three woods off the tee. But I drove it and had a mileage that I didn’t like at all. But I still finished with an eagle, and it was unbelievable.
Briem, who won three consecutive LETAS in June, has now confirmed his LET card for the 2025 season.
He said: “It’s been an amazing season so far and it’s great that I’ve achieved my goal of getting my LET card.”
Sweden’s Isabell Ekstrom finished third at 12-under and fellow Swede Kajsa Arwefjall tied for fourth at 11-under.
In her professional debut, England’s Mimi Rhodes, fresh off the Curtis Cup, finished tied for fifth place with Gabriella Cowley.
