Casemiro is protected by Manchester United legend Keane
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been incredibly protective of Casemiro despite his clear and obvious struggles over the past few months, particularly in last weekend’s big game against Liverpool.
Casemiro was at fault for Luis Diaz’s two first-half goals against Liverpool at Old Trafford, prompting Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag to send the Brazilian off at half-time.
Looking back on last season, Casemiro again suffered costly mistakes in defeats to the likes of Arsenal and Crystal Palace, but Keane seems to think the former Real Madrid man will stay at United.
That said, Keane thinks the club could support the player, and he thinks there will be times when he will use it.
Casemiro was one of the best defensive midfielders in the world during his prime, so he won’t lose that talent, even if it isn’t as flawless and strong and solid as he used to be a few years ago.

Keane has not ruled out that Casemiro has a role to play, telling The Overlap: “He will be here until January. One thing I can say… he had a difficult first half, obviously, but he played in the Community Shield, he did well, he played against Fulham, he did well.
“I wouldn’t have drafted players in those years. We’re 31, 32… what happens, I’ve been there, when you get to that age and you have an unbelievably bad game like you did in the first half… everybody’s quick, like none of us had a bad game. while we are there twenty two.
“Maybe his role in the team if he goes back, gets a few games under his belt, it might be higher up the pitch.
“The first thing we always say is that he can’t move around the field, but if you see him going forward, he has an eye for the ball and set-pieces, how many times do you see him catching it?”
“Will Casemiro bring Man United back to compete with Man City? Of course not. But the deal is over, he’s at the club.”
