Celtics Will Break NBA Franchise Price Record: Report

Most of the Celtics will be caught again CNBC top sports reporter Michael Ozanian expects it to sell for a record-breaking price.

The NBA’s highest selling price for a team right now is $4 billion starting in 2022, when Matt Ishbia buys the Suns from Robert Sarver.

The Celtics are the most important team since they won the 2024 NBA championship and their long history of success.

Boston Basketball Partners LLC, led by Wyc Grousbeck, wasted no time after winning the chip, by announcing the intention to sell a majority stake a few weeks later.

Ozanian gave an insight into how he thinks everything will go, in an exclusive interview with him NBCU Local.

“Yes, I think what’s interesting about this is that the current owner, Wyc Grousbeck, has said that the sale will happen in a few years,” Ozanian said. “Therefore, I think that if it is possible in three to four years, that is an advantage in getting a high price because the team that buys the team does not have to put down all the money at once, right. we will have to finance it all at once.”

He also touched on the fact that the new media rights agreement for the timing division, which was recently concluded, is very fortunate.

“The other thing is, and the timing was very good, that as we know, the NBA just got a new national media deal – which I think is about 2.7 times its previous media deal, even counting the fact that it’s going to share some with the WNBA,” he said. Ozanian.

He added, “You have to think the Celtics will sell for at least six to seven billion dollars,” Ozanian said. “The Celtics don’t operate their stadium, the stadium they play in is owned by the Boston Bruins’ ownership group, but they have different marketing and sponsorship activities in the stadium, which have helped them.”

Reports about people like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and John Henry of Fenway Sports Group have been around, although Bezos’ rumors have been denied by a source close to the matter.
