Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester under Brighton & Hove Albion.
Dewsbury-Hall played for the Foxes who won the championship last season under manager Enzo Maresca, who moved to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
Reports insist that Chelsea’s decision to move to Dewsbury-Hall is not directly related to Maresca, who gave his approval for such a transfer.
Athletic reports that Chelsea have agreed to pay around £30m to sign Dewsbury-Hall, who has agreed a contract until 2030 at Stamford Bridge.
Dewsbury-Hall, who turned down the chance to join Brighton & Hove Albion when Chelsea first came to prominence, will be tested on Sunday.
Discussions between Chelsea and Leicester have also included the idea of at least one player moving to the King Power Stadium on a separate deal.
David Datro Fofana, Cesare Casadei and Armando Broja were all mooted as potential options for Leicester before news of a deal for Dewsbury-Hall broke.
The Telegraph Leicester are said to be interested in 18-year-old midfielder Michael Golding, who impressed at youth level for the Blues and made his Chelsea debut as a late substitute in last season’s FA Cup third-round tie with Preston North End.
