Chelsea are hoping to sign Michael Olise this summer
Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Olise continues to be linked with a move away from the club and Chelsea are keen to sign him.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace are hoping to tie him to a new contract and offer him a new contract. The 22-year-old French international will receive a pay rise and the new deal will include a 2025 release clause.
It will be seen that this player decides to put on paper a new contract. Romano says Chelsea are confident a deal can be done and hope to agree personal terms with the player now.
Meanwhile, the Blues are not the only Premier League club interested in signing Olise and will face competition from Newcastle United. The Magpies have agreed to speak to the player about a possible move and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Michael Olise could improve Chelsea
The 22-year-old has been a key player for Crystal Palace and must prove he is worth Chelsea’s buy. The Blues need more quality and depth in wide areas, and the French winger will add goals and creativity to the side. He managed to score 10 goals and assist six in all competitions, despite struggling with injuries throughout the season.
The chance to move to a club like Chelsea will be very attractive to him. Although they have struggled in recent seasons, they are one of the biggest teams in the country. They might give him a platform to fight for big trophies in the coming seasons.
Crystal Palace will likely hope to hold on to him for as long as possible, but they may be powerless to stop him from leaving if the Blues can’t convince the winger to join them.
