Chelsea are making contact with a Premier League club to sign their defender

Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season and were expected to enter the transfer market for new players.

The season before last, the Blues finished 12th in the Premier League.

Last season was better than the season before that but it was still beaten by the high level of Chelsea.

The Blues have appointed a new manager this summer in Enzo Maresca and have begun their transfer business with impressive players including defender Tosin Adarabioyo and midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Other signings are expected to join the club soon and the Blues are reported to have already made contact with one of the scouts.

According to journalist Gianluigi Longari, Chelsea have now renewed their interest in the defender and have started negotiations again regarding Murillo’s possible deal with Nottingham Forest.

Murillo is being targeted by Chelsea.

As he works to rebuild the club, manager Maresca has identified Murillo as a strong target.

Murillo is very important to Forest, but it is not known if Chelsea have passed the stage of submitting a bid.

The defender’s contract with Forest expires in 2028, and they will want a huge transfer fee to let him go.

Chelsea lead Arsenal in the race to sign Murillo

The Gunners have previously been linked with the Brazilian defender. However, they have turned their attention to Bologna and Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori now.

This would give the Blues the chance to seal the deal and sign another defender to fix their faltering defence.

The west Londoners are also looking to sign a new striker to give them the attacking threat that was missing last season.

The Premier League giants have decided to add new faces to the squad to avoid the embarrassment they faced last season.
