Chelsea are struggling to lure the forgotten 29-year-old

Kepa is not in Chelsea’s plans but is reportedly struggling to find a new club before the summer transfer window closes.

That’s according to a recent report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, who say the 29-year-old goalkeeper is facing a ‘complex situation’ at Stamford Bridge.

Clearly not Enzo Maresca’s number one after seeing Robert Sanchez start in the Blues’ opening Premier League game of the season against Manchester City on Sunday, Kepa, who spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, faces an uncertain future.

Kepa has limited options away from Chelsea

Not in contention for a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, the Spanish stopper has limited options.

Kepa spent last season on loan with Real Madrid.

However, he has one year left on his contract, and after back-up goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen in Maresca’s order, Kepa, unless he can find a new club in the next 10 days, could be forced out of the 2024-25 season.

Formerly signed by Atletico Bilbao for an estimated £71.6 million in 2018, Kepa, who has also represented Spain 13 times, has kept 59 clean sheets in 163 appearances in all competitions.
