Chris Sutton says Sean Dyche’s criticism of Everton fans is ‘ridiculous’

Chris Sutton has spoken about the criticism Sean Dyche has received from Everton fans after his poor start to the season.

The Toffees are currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table after losing their first three games of the new campaign.

After a disappointing end to last season, Everton fans could have been hoping for a fresh start but those hopes were quickly dashed after their 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton.

That was followed by a 4-0 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur before a heartbreaking last-minute 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth.

As expected, Dyche has received a lot of criticism from Everton fans for the team’s poor performance and the pressure already reaching 11 despite the early stages of the season.

It won’t be easy for the England manager though as his side face Aston Villa this weekend.

Chris Sutton speaks for Everton fans

Writing in his BBC Sports column before the game, former Aston Villa and Celtic player Sutton said the reaction Dyche was getting from the Everton fans was ‘ridiculous’.

“It feels like some of their fans have turned on Dyche now, which I think is ridiculous, but he needs a result and unfortunately for him Villa Park is not a place where I can see Everton getting anything.” He said in his predictions.

With Unai Emery’s side already dropping points to the Gunners at home, the Spanish manager will want nothing more than a win at Villa Park on Saturday evening.
