Conner Kelsall wins the Commonwealth title with a 12 round decision over Conor Quinn in Belfast.

Conner Kelsall wow the Belfast crowd by defeating a local fighter Conor Quinn by majority decision on Friday night at the SSE Arena.

Kelsall judged the distance well over the 12 rounds, choosing when to attack and when to stay out of range. His style meant that Quinn couldn’t plant his feet and pin him down.

‘King’ Conner collected the vacant Commonwealth flyweight title by scores of 116-112 and 115-113, with the card drawn 114-114.

Kelsall improves to 12-0 (1), while Conor Quinn drops to 9-1-1 (6)

In Dublin Pierce O’Leary the most concentrated Irishman in Australia Darragh Foley in great support. Pierce made his fourth successful defense of the WBC International super-lightweight title. The judges recorded a decision in his favor with scores of 98-91 (twice) and 99-90.

Improving to 15-0 (8 KOs), O’Leary sent his opponent to the canvas in the second round with a scything right uppercut. Foley kept throwing back, but it wasn’t enough, as he fell to 22-6-1 (11 KOs).
