DeMar DeRozan wants long-term security in talks with the Bulls

DeRozan recently opened up about the experience on the Pivot Podcast, and revealed that the whole situation took a toll on his mental health. “It grew on me, to be honest,” DeRozan said. “It’s crazy, I’m free to talk about it now but for a long time I was frustrated because, one, it was the place I wanted to be, I think I’ll be there, I’d give everything to love it. my whole motivation and drive was just to put Toronto on the map. I wanted to follow the whole motto of, you know, Kobe [Bryant], my favorite player, I wanted to play in the same team, I had everything planned, so when I was sold it was very painful because at that time I was dealing with my family’s affairs, as you say, that’s when my father started to get sick. It was the first time in my professional career that I felt lost, I felt lost. I started questioning everything.” -via Clutch Points / May 21, 2024
