Scott Laughlin: And we’ll start with the first training accident of the season Fridge. The big news yesterday afternoon was that the Bruins parted ways with Jim Montgomery. And in some ways, it’s surprising, given his winning percentage. In some ways, maybe it’s not so surprising. So, from your perspective, and from what you know and what you’ve been able to investigate, where did things go wrong between Montgomery and the B’s?
Elliotte Friedman: That’s a good question. I think everything went wrong this year. You know, I don’t think too many people were looking at the situation where people thought that this could be, that this could be an assumption or a comment, and actually, I believe sometimes, I don’t know how deep, I get different answers to this, but they were talking about an extension. As if there was a chance that he would end up staying.
Then I really thought that Cam Neely did an interview with the Boston Globe last weekend where he said that everything has not been fixed since training camp. And I think that’s true. I think between (Jeremy) Swayman’s contract situation and (Brad) Marchand’s injury, it didn’t start well.

And there have been times at Scotty’s like that double-closing weekend a few weeks ago, when we all thought it was going to be fine, and then they did. And it didn’t get there. And I think (Elias Lindholm) and (Nikita) Zadorov were not a good match. I wonder if some of the contract stuff has taken over in this room.
And all teams should be found down, right? It’s like no one is good for 20 straight years, and the Bruins have been good for a long time in a row. And I wonder if it’s finally their turn.
