Dodgers Place Tyler Glasnow on Injured List

The Dodgers are set Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day injured list just before tonight’s game against the Cardinals. This is the second time IL has participated this season for the right-handed batsman, who is dealing with an elbow problem. Rookie southpaw Justin Wrobleski was recalled to Triple-A Oklahoma City and will make his fifth major league start tonight.

Although there have been no indications that Glasnow is battling an injury, the Dodgers announced yesterday that they will move his scheduled start from tonight to Saturday. As The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya observed (via X), it looks like the Dodgers will turn to him Bobby Miller to take the ball tomorrow instead. Miller has been on optional assignment since before the All-Star Break but is traveling with the MLB club on the team’s roster. Miller has continued to struggle in three Triple-A games since being demoted. He didn’t hit the church, though, so he’ll probably be missed.

There is nothing to suggest that Glasnow will be away for long. Losing him for at least two weeks is another blow to a rotation that has been hit hard by injuries. The Dodgers don’t have it Yoshinobu Yamamoto due to a rotator cuff strain and they didn’t have it Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May again Emmett Sheehan the whole season. Each of Gonsolin, May and Sheehan underwent significant arm surgery. High hopes Ryan River you associate yourself with them in that. He is facing Tommy John surgery and could be out until 2026.

Clayton Kershaw again Walker Buehler he just came back from a long injury. Miller missed several months with a shoulder problem and has looked like a shell of his rookie self since returning. The Dodgers got it Jack Flaherty in one of the biggest deals at the deadline, even though he has no health questions himself. Rokie is right Gavin Stone stepped up as a surprisingly important part of the rotation, striking out 22 times and pitching to a 3.63 ERA in 121 1/3 innings.

More to come.
