Dusan Tadic identifies the England player Serbia should contain at Euro 2024

Serbia captain Dusan Tadic has identified one England player his team must fight to suppress when the two countries meet at Euro 2024 in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday night.

Tadic will lead his side against a formidable Three Lions side that includes Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Jude Bellingham.

In the pre-match press conference, Tadic singled out Bellingham as someone Serbia should keep an eye on to improve their chances of a result.

“He is a very good player and very talented. He will definitely be one of the biggest threats for us, but we will do everything possible to avoid him and stop him often,” he said. “See [England] sure, favorites [to win the game] and favorites to win this tournament.”

The coach of Serbia, Dragan Stojjkovic, followed Bellingham’s words, saying: “We have to be careful, we have to close the space and not give him time to control the ball and enter the space in front of him. Defensively, we need to be very careful and we have to show everything we did during our training to stop this kind of dangerous situation.

“It’s very impressive the way he plays. He’s very young, and it’s unbelievable how he plays. It’s good for England and bad for us, but we’ll do everything we can to control these situations.”

After facing the Three Lions, Serbia will play Slovenia on June 20 before finishing their Group C campaign against Denmark five days later.
