Eddie Howe confirms that he has made up his mind for England
The choice of who will replace Gareth Southgate as manager of the men’s first team in England has been discussed for a long time, and one of the favorites, Eddie Howe of Newcastle United, has made a final decision.
After such a turnaround in the Magpies’ fortunes over the past few years, it is clear that former Bournemouth boss Howe will be sorely missed by the club.
The club play in his image, and the front-foot attacking style that has become their trademark, is a stark contrast to the boring fare offered by Steve Bruce’s men.
When Mike Ashley was sold to the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Bruce was replaced by Howe, things were about to change for the better.
Fortunately for the team’s fans, that looks set to continue.
“I have never contacted anyone [regarding the England job],” Howe said.
“I am fully committed to Newcastle United. There is nothing to talk about. I there is no need to talk to the players. They know how I behave.
“They see how I am every day, so they can see how dedicated I am to the team.”
