Feeling your arms ‘cross’ gives you great strength

Keeping your arms and body too connected during the swing can rob you of yards off the tee.

You’ve probably been told to keep your arms connected to your body when you swing. A good tip – if you are around the green.

On the tee box, however, staying too connected can actually rob you of power. Here, it is more than okay to disconnect. Not only will it give you the necessary range, but it will help you complete your backswing with more space to generate more speed on your downswing.

DO THIS

To get the feeling of crossing your arms across your body when swinging a driver, rotate the head cover in the armpit of your trailing arm. Set as usual and turn. Your goal is to turn your body while at the same time raising your arms and placing your hands as far away from your head as possible. If you do it right, the head cover will fall down as you reach the top when you go back.

Moving your arms and hands away from your body in this way provides two very important things: more time and more range, which can turn any humble landing into a fast bullet.
