Galatasaray have completed the loan signing of Osimhen who was sacked from Napoli
Galatasaray have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
The 25-year-old entered last week’s deadline day as a target for both Al-Ittihad and Chelsea but a deal failed to materialise.
Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad instead signed Brentford’s Ivan Toney while Chelsea’s late transfer efforts at Stamford Bridge ended in disappointment.
By then Osimhen had burned his bridges at Napoli and was stripped of his team number.
With the Turkish transfer window still open, Galatasaray have left and Osimhen has joined on a season-long loan deal that reportedly has a January break clause in place for one of Europe’s big guns.
Galatasaray’s statement read as follows: “An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SS Napoli regarding the temporary free transfer of the player.
“The footballer will be paid a total of 6,000,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season.”

It has also been reported that Napoli retain the option to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027 if they cannot complete a sale next summer – keeping his price high.
Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 and has been successful in Italy, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances in all competitions and helping the club end their Serie A drought in the 2022/23 campaign.
