Golf Business News – Club Company covers potential sale
The Club Company, which owns one of the UK’s largest chains of country clubs, has hired Bankers to oversee sales for the business, which operates 17 sites across England.
According to a report published by News of HeavenEpiris, the private equity firm that bought The Club Company in 2018, has appointed DC Advisory to find a buyer for the business.
Unofficial negotiations with prospective buyers are said to be ongoing, although details of who is working have not been released, nor has the value of the business been released.
The Club Company operates 17 golf clubs across the UK, including Nizels in Kent, Woodbury Park in Devon, Castle Royle in Berkshire and Chartham Park in West Sussex, each with a world-class golf course, and health and fitness centers. , bars, restaurants and accommodation.
With over 40,000 members, most of its properties are either owned directly by the company or on a long-term lease basis.
Since buying the company six years ago, Epris has added four new clubs to its portfolio – Cams Hall, High Legh Park, Chesfield Downs and, most recently, Greetham Valley, which it acquired in May this year.
Club Company has yet to issue an official statement regarding the proposed sale.
