Golf Business News – INFINITUM welcomes DP World Tour Qualifying School hopefuls

INFINITUM, a 45-hole golf, leisure and real estate resort on Spain’s Costa Dorada, is preparing to host the Final Stage of the DP World Tour Training School for the sixth year in a row.

From November 8-13, the tournament will mark the first time that the newly developed Lakes course has welcomed the stars in competitive action following an €800,000 refurbishment this year.

The Greg Norman-designed layout has been topped off with pristine new Zoysia grass and reimagined bunkering that promises to bring new challenges to the hopefuls.

A field full of DP World Tour stars, including former Ryder Cup champion Edoardo Molinari, will be joined by the sport’s brightest stars in a grueling six-round race that could have career-defining elements.

Although generally accessible to players of all skill levels, the two 18-hole Spanish courses are a rigorous test in tournament conditions and guarantee an enjoyable week of golf. The field will play four alternating rounds – two each on the Hills and Lakes courses – before the cut, after which the surviving players will compete in the final two rounds on the Lakes course. Only the top 25 players and ties will receive a prized DP World Tour card for next season.

Following the Lakes renovation, similar transformation work on the Hills course is expected to begin soon after the completion of Q School, a combination course with the nine-hole Ruins (also designed by Norman) and the nine-hole Hills course. open to play.

European Golf Design – led by Dave Sampson, the designer of the Marco Simone course in Rome for the 2023 Ryder Cup – will begin renovation work in December 2024 and continue into early 2026.

Joaquín Mora Bertrán, Deputy General Manager of Golf, Beach Club and F&B at INFINITUM, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome the DP World Tour and to host the Qualifying School Final Stage here for the sixth consecutive year and we are excited. getting another fun week of golf going.

“While our courses are designed to be accessible to beginners and high achievers alike, make no mistake – under competitive conditions, they are a huge challenge even for the most experienced practitioners. Players will have to do their best to earn a DP World Tour card. We can’t wait to see who will rise to the challenge!”
