Golf Business News – PGA of America elects new president
PGA Master Professional Don Rea Jr. was elected the 44th President of the PGA of America at the Association’s 108th Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Rea, who has been a member of the Southwest Section of the PGA for the past 22 years, will serve a two-year term in the office, representing more than 31,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals.
Rea, who earned PGA Master Professional Status earlier this year, is the owner and operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club, a public golf course in Mesa, Arizona.
He served on the PGA of America’s National Board of Directors from 2016-19, and was President of the PGA Southwest Section from 2013-14. He has also served on the Boards of Directors of the Southwest PGA Section, the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) and the Arizona Tourism Alliance.
While on the PGA board of directors, he chaired the Junior Golf Committee, which created the American Development Model (ADM) of golf, and the PGA Jr. Committee. League. Additionally, Rea served on the Chief Operating Officer Search Committee and currently serves on the Chief Executive Officer Search Committee.
Rea currently serves on the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association Board of Directors to promote the golf and hospitality industry and help educate the public and Arizona legislators about water use in the golf industry.
Since 2012, Rea has run Your Course Consulting and re-founded Community Course Rescue Services in 2017.

“I’m incredibly proud of the lives we touch together on the course, shoulder to shoulder with our 41 PGA of America divisions. It is our primary mission to serve our PGA of America Golf Professionals and provide resources to allow them to develop and continue to lead as professionals of the game. “
